John Fumai was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York.  He moved with his family to Chesterfield County in 2007 from the DC area where he had lived since graduating from the University of Maryland.  He attended the University of Maryland on full scholarship as the Head Football Manager.

 

John has an extensive background in property management and sales. He traveled as much as 4 days a week for his job and after 9/11 he decided that he wanted to do something that would enable him to spend more time with his family and stay closer to home. In 1992 he got his real estate license and became a Realtor.

 

John joined the Don Cahoon Team after relocating to Chesterfield and using Don as his Realtor. John felt that Don did an excellent job of listening to his and his wife Donna's wants and desires for their new home.  Don found the perfect house in the perfect neighborhood for them.  The Fumai family love their home and have made so many lifelong friends in Foxfire, that they can't imagine living anywhere else!

 

John and Donna relocated to Chesterfield looking for better schools for their three children and a more affordable lifestyle than they could have in the DC area.  They love that Chesterfield is still close enough to Donna's family in DC that they can easily visit them.  They are so happy to call Chesterfield Home!

 

John's first hand experience relocating, helps him to really understand and make the process as smooth and successful as possible for his clients.  He knows just the right questions to ask so that he can help you to find the best house to fit your needs.  He wants you to be just as happy in your new home five years from now as you will be on the day you move in.

 

John met Donna in 1993 when she worked as a bookkeeper of the main office where John worked.  He asked her to go as his date to the company Christmas Party and they were married three years later.  Donna is now a full time stay at home mother to the couples three children.  Their oldest child, Joe, attends Tomahawk Middle School where he is in all honors classes.  Joe plays clarinet and piano and is an avid reader. John says that Joe teaches him something new everyday.   Claire is a student at Woolridge Elementary School.  She also plays piano like her big brother and takes dance.  She is a very kind and loving sister.  Kate is a preschooler and attends Greenwood Day.  She loves soccer and dances like her big sister.  Her wonderful sense of humor makes it impossible for anyone in the family to be in a bad mood when they are around her.

 

When John isn't selling Real Estate, you can find him working in his garage on his 1969 Thunderbird and his 1992 Corvette. He loves fixing things and has even earned the nickname MacGyver from his wife. It's always handy to have a Realtor who knows something about fixing things!
